Scesaplana "Wall of Fame"

A board of honour of a special kind – the Scesaplana Wall of Fame. On this board, those guests of the hotel Scesaplana are inscribed und thus immortalized, who have conquered the peak of our local mountain, 2964 m above sea level.

Did we whet your appetite? Ambitious? Well, you can already study the route:

From the Pralüd mountain railway, the narrow mountain trail goes from the Pralüd brook to the Glinga well. The Glingabrunnen is a natural monument, a number of springs at the feet of the Mottakopf, which get their waters beneath the ground from the Brandner glacier. The trail then meets a  path leading into the picturesque Zalim valley.

Halfway you will find the idyllic Obere Brüggele Alpe, a very original old mountain cottage, offering rustic refreshment. Afterwards, the zigzag trail leads to the Oberzalim cottage.

The Leiberweg is a path partially blasted into the rock, a climbing area for experienced surefooted climbers with a good head for heights. Information on the condition of the path is available at the Tourism Office! From the Mannheimerhütte, you will reach the Scesaplana’s peak (2,965 m) by crossing the Brandner glacier. A track is laid on the glacier and normally not difficult to pass. Descent to the Totalphütte on an easy trail and a well-used path (be careful:  there can be snow-fields in spring and autumn!). Further descent from the Totalphütte to the Lünersee and over the Bösen Tritt (evil step) to the Schattenlaganthütte. From there back to Brand on an easy footpath or by bus from the valley station of the Lünersee mountain railway.

Moutain cottages offering rustic refreshment:

Brand-Obere Brüggele Alpe- Oberzalimhütte - Mannheimerhütte – Totalp-Hütte - Douglasshütte- Schattenlaganthütte - Brand

Experienced mountain freaks following this route can „make“ the Scesaplana in one day.
An easier route leads from the Lünersee over the Totalp-Hütte to the Scesaplana and back again. Surefooted hikers can get to the Scesaplana peak on this route too; a good head for heights is not required.

Do you, too, wish to be inscribed on the Scesaplana Wall of Fame?
